ABOUT
PARK HEIGHTS SAINTS COMMUNITY CENTER, INC.
The Park Heights Saints Community Center, Inc., located at 4804 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21215, is a non-profit 501c(3) organization dedicated to building and investing in the lives of at-risk minority children and their families living in the Park Heights community. We have volunteers who possess positive values, which aids in the development of physical, social growth and lays an educational foundation to the children who are at-risk, and to the families we serve.
History of Organization: The Park Heights Saints Community Center, Inc. (PHSCC) has provided wrap-around services and resources for more than 20 years to the at-risk minority children and families living in the Park Heights (PH) community. The President & Chief Executive Officer,- Mr. Garrick Williams, is a life-long resident of the community of Park Heights. The PH community has a history of crime that includes drugs, homicide and burglaries. With a strong conviction, Mr. Garrick Williams and his faith, led him to see the potential of what PH could become by investing in the lives of children and youth at risk living in Park Heights.
In March of 2018, the PHSCC began. The current facility was in total disrepair. The building was in dire need of a new roof due to a fire; new plumbing, electrical, and complete refurbishing with new bathrooms, kitchen, walls, doors, flooring, new appliances and a new heating/air conditioning system. The community center facility officially opened to the community in March 2019 in the heart of Park Heights on Reisterstown Rd. PHSCC is an outreach community center providing wraparound services providing hunger relief to the underserved children and their families, thereby addressing the food insecurity problem that exists in Park Heights. Our organization provides an after-school tutoring program to more than 40 children that focuses on areas of reading, writing, spelling, and math, and access to an onsite computer lab for the children and families living in Park Heights. Many of our volunteers are current or former Law Enforcement Officers, Public School Educators, or church laity. . PHSCC operates nine (9) children and youth football teams in partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; a girls Cheerleading Program comprised of 45 girls; and 45 coaches. The coaches provide invaluable mentoring and who serve as role models that undergird strong values, teamwork, and inspire children and youth at risk to become young leaders in the community in which they live. The teams are comprised of children and youth living in the PH community.
: The mission of the Park Heights Saints Community Center Inc., (PHSCC) is to empower and enrich the lives of at-risk minority children, youth and low-income families living in the community of Park Heights in inner-city Baltimore, MD, through hunger relief, an after-school educational tutoring program, literacy program, mentoring programs, athletic and weight training programs, social programs and family get-togethers. Our community center has eight children’s and youth football teams, and a girls cheerleading team. Our organization is a 501c(3) non-profit recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.
